Woman Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Concord Pike in Wilmington
Wilmington, Delaware (July 30, 2017) – According to the Delaware Police State, a woman sustained major injuries after she was struck by a car Saturday night in Wilmington.
The pedestrian accident transpired at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, on Concord Pike, south of Fairfax Boulevard.
As per the report, the 35-year-old woman crossed the northbound lanes of Concord Pike south of Fairfax Boulevard, but when she tried to cross the southbound lane, she entered into the path of a 2009 Cadillac and was struck by the vehicle. The 80-year-old driver of the Cadillac had tried to swerve the car, but the pedestrian was too close. She was thrown into the right travel lane.
The authorities said that the woman was not in the crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident. Her identification had not yet been released.
The incident was still under an active investigation.
