Man, 59, Killed in Pedestrian Crash in Dover

Dover, Delaware (July 29, 2017) – A man, 59, died on Friday night after he ran directly in front of a car and was hit in Dover, according to Dover police.
The incident was reported at about 8:40 p.m. July 28, in the area of Raceway Liquors at the 800 block of North DuPont Highway, also known as U.S. 13.
The man ran across the northbound lanes of U.S. 13 but then stepped directly into the way of a 2008 Toyota Sienna in the middle southbound lane, as per police department.
The van, therefore, struck him and the victim suffered fatal injuries from the impact
The identity of the deceased had not been released yet pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
