Elkton Road Hit-and-Run Victim Identified as Kelvin Dottin
Newark, Delaware (July 12, 2017) – A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Newark area on Thursday has been identified as 44-year-old Kelvin Dottin, according to a police report.
According to a report by the Newark Police Department, Dottin had been walking on the southbound shoulder of Elkton Road when he was hit by a southbound vehicle near the intersection of Otts Chapel Road at about 11:46 p.m. Thursday, July 6.
The driver of the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim but fled the crash scene.
Dottin’s lifeless body was discovered at about 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, a customer at American Spirit Credit Union, who then called the police. The body was in a drainage ditch in front of the credit union at 1110 Elkton Road.
The incident remains under investigation.
