Townsend Man Killed in Weekend Motorcycle Crash Identified
Townsend, Delaware (August 16, 2017) – An 18-year-old man died Saturday following a crash that took place Friday evening in New Castle County, according to Delaware State Police.
The fatal accident occurred Friday, August 11, on northbound Route 13 at the Chestnut Lane intersection south of Odessa in Townsend.
The man, identified as Josiah W. Wible from Townsend, was riding a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle at high speed when a southbound car tried to make a U-Turn in front of him at the Chestnut Lane intersection, according to police.
Wible’s bike hit the back end of the car throwing him off the bike.
According to troopers, Wible was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition and died on Saturday.
Authorities continue with an investigation into the incident to determine its cause and liability.
