John Watson, 50, Killed, Chelsea Harris, 22, Injured in Felton Car Crash on Irish Hill Road
Felton, Delaware (July 6, 2017) – A 50-year-old Woodside man died Tuesday evening following a two-vehicle crash in Felton, Delaware State Police reported.
The incident took place at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, on Irish Hill Road.
According to the report, John Watson was westbound on Irish Hill Road when, for some reason, he lost control of his vehicle and veered into the opposite lane, while approaching the slight curve near Canterbury Road.
A Ford Focus, driven by 22-year-old Chelsea Harris of Felton, was heading eastbound on Irish Hill Road and struck the passenger side door of Watson’s car. The impact of the crash sent Watson’s car down an embankment.
Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harris was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
