Derik Pecorini, 62, Killed in Two-Car Crash in Dove, Marcus Thomas, 22, Arrested

Dover, Delaware (July 24, 2013) – Two vehicles collided on Sunday killing one Dover man and causing injuries to another in Dover, according to the police.
The fatal incident occurred at around 2:54 a.m. July 23, on McKee Road at the intersection of Scarborough and West Denneys roads.
As per reports by police, a Dover man identified as Marcus Thomas, 22, was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima in the wrong direction in the northbound lane of McKee Road when he crashed head-on with Derik Pecorini, 62, of Dover driving a 2002 Honda Accord.
According to Dover Police Department, Pecorini was killed in the crash while Thomas sustained minor injuries.
Thomas was also found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Little information regarding why the crash happened was available.
The crash remains under an active investigation by the police to determine the cause and liability.
