Georgetown, Delaware (August 14, 2017) –  One person sustained serious injuries in Sussex County Crash on Sunday morning, according to Delaware State Police.

The accident took place at about 5:45 a.m. on Lewes-Georgetown Highway also commonly known as Route 9, east of Gravel Hill Road.

One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Limited details regarding the cause of the incident and the identity and condition of the victim were available.

Route 9 between Gravel Hill Road and Prettyman Road was blocked, and commuters were asked to find an alternative route of travel.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
