Twelve Children Injured in Delaware City Day Care Bus Crash
Delaware City, Delaware (July 20, 2017) – Two cars collided causing injuries to several people in Delaware City on Thursday afternoon, according to Delaware State Police.
The incident occurred at about 3:28 p.m. on Wrangle Hill at River Road this afternoon.
According to reports, the crash involved was from Passion Care Academy II Daycare.
17 students were on the bus at the time of the crash, but 12 were taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment. The other five children were picked up by their parents.
The bus appeared to have struck the side of a work pickup truck. The truck occupants were not harmed.
Limited details regarding how and what caused the crash were available at this time.
Wrangle Hill Road at River Road in the crash site was blocked, and commuters were asked to use caution while an investigation by troopers continued.
The crash is still under investigation.
