Motorcycle Rider Injured after Colliding with Car in Wilmington

Pea Patch Island, Delaware (July 16, 2017) – Two people were hospitalized after a boat with four people on board struck an unlit buoy in Pea Patch Island, a local news source reported.

At around 10:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, rescue crews from Delaware City were called for a water rescue. Marine units also responded to the scene where four people were thrown from their boat after it hit an unlit Buoy.

Marine units examined the victims. They took three patients who were on board back to the dock in Delaware City for further evaluation. The fourth occupant of the boat remained with the boat as it was towed into the canal.

Initial investigations showed that two of the four boaters, one being a child sustained head injuries. Two of the injured people were transported to Christiana Hospital via an ambulance. They had sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
